Senior Flow Assurance Engineer

Englewood / Denver CO

Purpose of the Role:

Worley seeks a Senior Flow Assurance Engineering Specialist to work with the Process/Pipeline Team and the wider global flow assurance community. The specialist should be able to use flow analysis tools and technology to provide support to ensure completion of safe and operable design in accordance with clients and project requirements, relevant laws, regulations and codes. Must be familiar with oil and gas surface and subsurface production facilities networks, offshore and onshore processing facilities, hydrocarbon fluid characterizations, and fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct transient thermal-hydraulic modeling and simulation for onshore and offshore facilities, including wells, pipelines, risers, separation systems, and pressure-boosting equipment, with proficiency in OLGA.
  • Execute engineering, design, and analysis tasks for oil and gas pipeline projects, utilizing industry standards and advanced technology with minimal supervision.
  • Perform steady-state and transient multiphase flow simulations, heat transfer assessments, and flash calculations using software such as OLGA, PVTsim, and Multiflash.
  • Lead front-end studies and cost estimation activities.
  • Develop detailed designs and calculations, including hydraulics and flow assurance, wall thickness analysis, stress assessments, crossing designs, coating selection, and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling).
  • Design process layouts, including pig launchers and receivers, pump and compressor station configurations, gas equipment sizing, meter/M&R station layouts, and terminal piping designs.
  • Prepare material specifications and procurement documents, utilizing engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS and InControl.
  • Generate key engineering deliverables, including Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Material Balance (HMB) sheets, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), line lists, and PSV datasheets.
  • Develop process simulations, Basis of Design documents, and Process and Control Narratives for well pads and modular equipment.
  • Collaborate with instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless interdisciplinary integration.
  • Provide process input for mechanical datasheets, instrumentation datasheets, and Cause & Effect diagrams.
  • Support international offices in implementing well pad designs.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient design of single and multi-well pads to meet operational and regulatory requirements.


    Technical Expertise and Qualifications:



    • At least 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas Process Engineering, with expertise in a specialized engineering discipline on large to mega projects.
    • Proficiency in process modeling using SPS, PIPESIM, and HYSYS is essential.
    • Strong background in fluid characterization and liquid surge analysis.
    • Experience in process design and/or operations support is highly valued.
    • Exceptional report-writing and communication skills.
    • Active membership in a recognized professional engineering body.
    • Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily within a multidiscipline design environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of oil and gas development processes, including concept identification, screening, and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design).
    • Familiarity with project execution, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry design standards.


    Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

    Required:

    * Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

    * Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.

    * A Master's or PhD is preferred but not required.

    Additional information:



    • This position will be based in the Englewood/Denver, CO area.
    • Salary: $126,097/annually - $185,436/annually commensurate with experience.
    • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
