PDO Milling Programmer

The Product Design Office is looking for a highly motivated candidate to assist the Milling Team at Stellantis in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of 3 and 5 axis NC Mill programming.

The PDO Milling Programmer position includes, but is not limited to the following primary responsibilities:



  • Create 3 and 5 axis NC Mill cutter paths for clay, foam, and aluminum millings
  • Ability to create surface data using NX


The individual will need perform the following activities within the milling department, supporting the studios of Product Design Office:



  • Receive surface and/or scan data from various CAD systems and finalize for CNC machine cutter-path development
  • Develop NC milling programs within NX to accommodate 3 and 5 axis milling of Clay models, foam composites, and aluminum alloys
  • Prepare detailed PowerPoint documents to communicate cutter-path directions to mill operators
  • Create and repair surface data to accommodate NC programming or RP parts production needs
  • Maintain program schedules during production of all milling
  • Review and analyze provided math data to identify existing and potential problem areas.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment to problem solve, support and communicate programming intentions to mill operators

Basic Qualifications:



  • A minimum 5 years of applied experience in 3 and 5 axis CAD/CAM model production
  • Demonstrate the ability to supplement incomplete surfaces to enable tool path creation while preserving original design intentions
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter that follows through assigned projects to their successful finish
  • The ability to work in a team environment while quickly responding to unexpected changes and substitutions within planned work schedules
  • A proven ability to multi-task projects
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Completed, or in pursuit of college degree in Business Administration and/or Engineering
  • A minimum 10 years of applied experience in 3 and 5 axis CAD/CAM model production
  • A minimum 3 years of CNC machine operation
