Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

Location: Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite in Charlotte, NC

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our client's accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong accounting expertise-particularly in accounts receivable-who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and guide the daily work of accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Oversee daily reconciliations of bank transactions and report timely updates to senior leadership.
  • Review and audit financial transactions, providing feedback and coaching to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assign tasks and monitor deadlines to ensure operational goals are met.
  • Set team priorities and align daily objectives with broader business needs.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and develop performance improvement plans when needed.
  • Support the hiring and onboarding process, including training and mentoring new team members.
  • Perform daily and ad hoc reconciliations as required.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners to streamline accounting processes and resolve issues.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies and implement practical, timely solutions.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable.
  • Industry experience in mortgage or insurance is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in debits and credits; high attention to detail in financial data.
  • Experience in training and staff development (minimum of 2 direct reports).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
