Venable LLP's Autonomous and Connected Mobility group within our Technology & Innovation Group seeks a Policy Advisor to join the practice in the Washington, D.C. office.

Our practice seeks a Policy Advisor with a minimum of five years of legislative and client relations experience to support the team working at the intersection of transportation innovation, infrastructure, and emerging vehicle technologies. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in client relations, policy research, legislative analysis, and a passion for shaping the future of mobility.

The Policy Advisor will assist in monitoring federal policy developments, counseling clients, overseeing research and analysis efforts, drafting briefing materials, and supporting coalition coordination. The role will focus on issues such as autonomous vehicles, emerging and advanced mobility, charging and fueling infrastructure, and intelligent transportation systems and technology, with engagement across federal agencies and Capitol Hill. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with seasoned policy professionals and gain hands-on experience in shaping public policy for the future of mobility.

The qualified candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience in a policy, legislative, or regulatory setting with significant client-facing responsibilities, preferably in government, a trade association, or a consulting firm. Candidates must be well-versed in the legislative and regulatory process and client service delivery. Strong research, writing, and communication skills are a must, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and policy tracking tools (e.g., CQ, Bloomberg Government, or similar platforms) strongly preferred. A master's degree in a relevant topic area is preferred, but not required.

The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of job-related factors including, but not limited to, years of related experience, level of education, skills, credentials and certifications, responsibilities and performance.
