Together We Grow - One Mission, One Team - With a Commitment to Serve Scope of Work: The Grounds Supervisor supervises Grounds personnel performing snow removal and grounds maintenance support at Fort Carson. Responsibilities:
- Coordinates Grounds personnel with the assigned daily workload, prioritizing to ensure maximum efficiency among the diverse activities, and include distribution and retrieval of work orders, monitoring progress, supporting supply requirements and determining specific work requirements where precise instructions are needed.
- Identifies program objectives and priorities, and develop operating policies and procedures needed to achieve annual and long-range goals.
- Oversees and directs operations in safely providing required services to the customer.
- Coordinates support for mission-essential requirements requiring personnel.
- Monitors completion of emergency and urgent work.
- Oversees the training employees on equipment and tools,
- Prepares & Briefs daily safety training.
- Monitors turf heights for PWS requirements.
- Supervises irrigation, mowing and labor crews and seasonal laborers.
- Reviews & Updates JSA training.
- Resolves logistical problems.
- Schedules mowing and irrigation crews for special events.
- Reviews back log & prepares status reports.
- Monitors Irrigation requirements and equipment inventory.
- Oversees Pesticide Application and Maintenance.
- Inspects work performed by Grounds personnel to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Checks daily time sheets and cost accounting data.
- Maintains accurate work records and related documents.
- Writes accurate and complete work reports for management use.
- Resolves operational problems.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as manager or supervisor of maintenance crews.
- Three years' experience in supervision of, and familiarity with, the activities of heavy equipment operations, snow removal, and vehicle maintenance.
- Possession of a Commercial Driver's License is preferable.
- Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain - side hills and slopes.
- Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, bending, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to frequently bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
