Philanthropy Events Manager

General Summary of Position
The Philanthropy Events Manager is responsible to oversee the end-to-end management of events, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates special events for recognition, stewardship and engagement purposes.
  • Works with event stakeholders to strategize a clear purpose for the event and identify the target audience.
  • Conceptualizes and coordinates a variety of events, ranging from intimate donor appreciation gatherings to large-scale fundraising events.
  • Assists with all aspects of event planning, including logistics, vendor relationships, and attendee experience.
  • Helps to create post-event follow-up cultivation and stewardship plans.
  • Tracks event activity in the donor database.
  • Interacts with the highest levels including, President and other leadership, as well as many other high-level donors and volunteers.
  • Has reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly to MedStar entities and event venues throughout the region.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree required

    Experience

    • 5-7 years related philanthropy experience, ideally within a health system setting required
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present and deliver information effectively; ability to interact with a wide variety of communication/work styles.
    • Strong problem solving abilities and ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative as appropriate.
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with ability to synthesize, analyze, critique and offer recommendations.
    • Capable of handling proprietary information and working with sensitive material.

    This position has a hiring range of $70,428 - $131,310
