Who we are looking for:

Atkore is currently searching for a Quality Assurance Specialist to be based out of De Pere, WI. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, this person will be responsible for providing quality assurance support for the De Pere operations team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring quality product are being produced to customer specifications.

What you'll do:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a quality setting with a minimum of a high school degree. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is preferred.

What you'll bring:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Maintain, archive, and retrieve tensile test results via hard copy or electronic means.
  • Analyze and understand tensile test data to make sure product complies with customer expectations.
  • Maintain, archive, and retrieve macro sample tests via hard copy or electronic means.
  • Analyze and understand macro results to direct production mills if needed.
  • Maintain, archive, and retrieve nonconforming product paperwork.
  • Assist in tracking and maintaining measurement tools and replace on mills when needed.
  • Report and track to closure of quality nonconformance and ensure proper quarantine of such material.
  • Responsible for notifying production personnel of nonconforming product and train production associates on applicable testing and inspection methods when needing assistance.
  • Perform routine quality audits of inspection adherence of running product / reworked material.
  • Analyze and understand test data acquired and use it to make decisive decisions.
  • Ability to perform internal and process audits to standards and internal documentation, including ISO9001:2015.


  • Identify leading indicators that impact lagging metrics and champion improvement through Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology.
  • Utilize 8D problem solving process and drive look across of actions impacting the rest of the plant to implement best manufacturing practices.


  • Knowledge of metrology, (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), process control methods, and document control a plus.


  • Actively identify and lead projects/events to continuously improve customer satisfaction and product quality.


  • Knowledge of tube-making and fabrication preferred.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and demonstrated ability in Lean Manufacturing, Behavior Based Quality, Kaizen Events, and Problem Solving is a strong plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs.


Qualifications include:



  • 3 years of experience performing related field experience.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Strong analytical skills with problem solving experience.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office experience.
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, precision instruments to measure parts for conformity.
  • Customer focus.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore Immersion Program.

  • Understand overall processes and product knowledge.



Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Detailed understanding of key process and product characteristics.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.


  • Developed relationships with the key stakeholders.
  • Understand root cause for known quality issues and able to work with cross functional team to identify effective corrective action.



Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Provide support for key initiatives that deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Deliver on projects that positively impact business.
