Job Overview

The Law Clinics Program Coordinator coordinates administrative, client casework, meeting planning, and clinical program support for the College of Law Domestic Violence and Civil Protection Order, Entrepreneurship and Community Development, Legal Access, and Patent and Trademark Clinics.

Essential Functions

  • Contact clinic participants, including, but not limited to ,collecting applications; scheduling interviews; sending acceptance confirmation letters; and coordinating exit interviews.
  • Create and maintain client interview folders and client files; assist students with scheduling and preparing for client meetings; and assist with student/client correspondence.
  • Open, close, update, and maintain client records and files in client software system and electronic files.
  • Edit and assemble course and exam materials for assigned faculty and adjunct taught clinics; assist with course site development, maintenance, and upload to Canvas/TWEN; and assist with arranging class speakers.
  • Coordinate and facilitate clinic meetings; plan, organize and supervise events and media coverage; manage clinic case-related data and other outcomes measures.
  • Support clinic litigation efforts (court filing, service, etc.).
  • Assist the Experiential Learning Committee with meeting scheduling, agenda, minutes, etc.
  • Follow and enforce clinic policies and procedures.
  • Provide clinic and academic administrative support to full-time and adjunct faculty overseeing law clinics including, but not limited to, file creation and maintenance, managing phones and email accounts, preparation of agendas and minutes, drafting correspondence, responding to inquiries, and greeting guests.
  • Utilize CONCUR to coordinate faculty and student travel arrangements and process expense reports and reimbursements.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience working at a law firm, law school, or in a law clinic program, preferably in a litigation setting or in a paralegal capacity.
  • Experience with case management software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Notary Public or ability to become a Notary Public.
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
