Job Summary

  • Applies FIU policies and procedures while preparing various financial responsibilities such as for grant accounts and monitors department budget. Responsible for running monthly financial reports and analyzing the findings to appropriately suggest recommendations for efficiencies. Works closely with the Center for Children and Families with overload contracts and summer contracts.
  • Prepares financial reports and/or supporting workpapers for departmental. Prepares, reviews and adjusts financial entries such as payroll transfers, cost transfers, payments, etc as needed.
  • Monitors departmental budget, monthly expenses such as phone lines, and usage of duplicating and copy cards. Runs monthly financial reports, analyzes the findings and makes recommendations for efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Receives subsidiary records and prepares appropriate billing via Smart Billing system Enters purchasing agreements via the Total Contract Management System.
  • Monitors department accounts for specific projects or C& G for compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assists graduate students and employees on grants with their payroll paperwork and questions.
  • Assists Principal Investigator's (PIs) with their Time and Effort reports. Assists with cost sharing calculation for PIs that are being paid over the agency salary cap. Assists with Course Buyout Submissions.
  • Monitors faculty salaries.
  • Monitors the processing of TAR and procard approvals.
  • Assists with the process of service agreement /honorarium payment for guest speakers
  • Assists PIs with Consultant agreements' paperwork and following up with their payments. Assists PIs with all tasks related to the submission of progress reports .
  • Provides assistance to adjuncts with questions related to payroll and contracts.
  • Calculates and prepares foundation reimbursements for PSY .
  • Works in collaboration with The Center for Children and Families related to overload contracts, buyout submissions and summer contracts.
  • Manage department accounts and serve as the Expense Manager (approver role) for the department regarding expenses, with travel reimbursements, purchases with requisitions, smart billing approvals, scholarships approval request.
  • Prepare and submit Faculty Summer Salary Contracts.
  • Prepare and submit Adjunct Contracts.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related discipline and two (2) years of experience in related field or Master's degree in related discipline.
