Field Engineer

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As part of the Field Service team within the larger Service Delivery group, your role as a Field Engineer (Fixed Data & Mobility) is crucial. You are responsible for delivering customer service at their site or vessel. You are the driving force in the field, conducting surveys, installing SES Solutions, and performing prescribed maintenance at customer sites, all while strictly adhering to SES policies for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment.

You ensure that all SES project and maintenance tasks are executed at a world-class level at customer sites. Additionally, you act as the QHSE champion and advocate when deployed, aligning with line management and supporting SES QHSE policies and practices, as well as collaborating with the SES QHSE Manager and any customer QHSE representative.

You will be responsible for(this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Responsible for completing all field related activities on customer sites/vessels. Delivering solutions into customer sites/vessels using best practices and methods.
  • Internal technical point of contact offering SME (Subject Matter Expert) support to less senior Field Engineers to ensure SES Field work is carried out to the exacting standards required and that all team members have a support mechanism.
  • Conduct all field engineering work at customer sites using best practice and along prescribed SES guidelines and documentation - reporting on any out of tolerance to line management, QHSE manager and SDM (Service Delivery Managers) alike
  • Ensure that all field deployments are conducted in accordance with SES process, best practice, and guidelines
  • Offers field related technical expertise acting as an escalation point for less experienced Field Engineers

  • Provide OJT to more junior Field Engineers as part of a training program for certification or as is deemed necessary by the incumbent or line management
  • Carryout Project Field taskings of surveys and installation of SES products/solutions adhering to SES stipulated documents, completing all deliverable artefacts in a timely manner.
  • Carryout in service taskings of corrective and preventative maintenance in coordination with the Field Service Team, the NOC (Network Operations Center) and Operational Engineering. All deliverable artifacts are to be completed within the required timeframe.
  • Drive the adherence of SES Quality and HSE policies, procedures, tooling, and reporting following SES guidelines in support of the QHSE Manager.
  • As allocated, support and input to the SDM on site readiness to deploy field teams based on the customer completed readiness checklists.
  • Escalate to line manager and customer responsible SDM for field tasking events that are out of tolerance and provide input to recovery plans and analysis

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline, or relevant equivalent experience
  • 6+ years' practical installation & commissioning experience in field satcoms essential
  • Experience in collaborating and steering 3rd party team in a technical environment
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of land based or maritime based VSAT solutions
  • Experience of MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) is extremely advantageous
  • Affiliation with GVF (Global VSAT Forum) preferred, GVF examiner advantageous
  • Ability to work in remote and often harsh field environments to implement or maintain solutions, essential
  • Full and clean driving license
  • Willingness and eligibility to undergo NATO clearance process
  • Authorization to work in USA
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability and willingness to travel within region and globally up to 75%

The salary range for this full-time position is$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target salary for new hires in Florida, Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
