Job overview:

Schneider is seeking a Senior Business Development Director to develop strategic plans for new customers within a specialty market in order to grow relationships and increase revenue and profitability. The Senior Business Development Director will have a deep business and customer understanding of a specific Dedicated vertical market and have primary focus on either refrigerated, flatbed/dedicated specialty or private fleet conversions. This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities in a specialty market through prospecting and planning.
  • Ensure prospects will be long-term, viable customers.
  • Partner with Market Research Development Analysts and the marketing team to create strong go-to-market strategies for a specialty market.
  • Coach, mentor and engage with sellers on opportunities.
  • Follow up with leads in a timely manner and present Schneider's value proposition.
  • Create solutions for customers by working with engineering, revenue management, operations, customer service and business implementation teams.
  • Lead contract negotiations with new business.
  • Use Schneider's Customer Relationship Management tool to ensure the accurate and timely management of data.

Skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience in selling refrigerated transportation, flatbed or private fleet conversions.
  • Transportation industry experience.
  • Strong prospecting skills.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
