Pay Range

$111,600 $136,656 Anually for EO1.3

$133,950 $164,028 Anually for EO1.4

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. Job Description

We have an opening for an experienced Business Analyst to support the Enterprise Service Management Office (eSMO) in the Office of the CIO.This position will analyze, plan, and recommend solutions for eSMO to meet user requirements. In this role, you will cultivate strong partnerships with both IT and mission areas to influence eSMO's service delivery, gap assessment and design of business processes, and final requirements. Additionally, this role will serve as a liaison to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions to meet organizational goals and objectives. This position is within the Information Technology Solutions Division (ITSD) of the Computing Directorate, supporting the LivIT program.

This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.

This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

  • Collaborate with functional experts to understand and analyze new and existing business processes, requirements, and workflows.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to gather and translate user requirements for designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions that align with business goals and objectives.
  • Provide in-depth consultation to mission areas and IT to identify and evaluate standards and procedures, improving overall process efficiency to build fully functional business processes, evaluate ServiceNow requests, estimate the effort required for implementation, and recommend priority levels for enhancements or projects.
  • Create and develop comprehensive user requirements documentation, including end-to-end process maps and data flows.
  • Conduct and analyze demand for new requests, modifications, or enhancements to existing processes or system functionality, while identifying opportunities to optimize and improve functional processes.
  • Develop presentation materials and training guides for consulting and training services on new and evolving features, solutions, and processes within ServiceNow; write test plans, use cases, knowledge articles for the execution of system implementations, upgrades, or enhancements, provide feedback on bugs, enhancements, access issues, and usability, train and mentor team members on business analysis and process improvement topics.
  • Assist in organizational management and the adoption of new ServiceNow features or processes by developing metrics, reports or dashboards to provide insights into process effectivity, service performance and business metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the E01.4 level

  • Lead the analysis of complex development projects by leveraging IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and processes, both existing and new.
  • Establishes practices and procedures for implementation and support of business process improvements or re-engineering efforts.
  • Independently plan, conduct, and direct the analysis of current business processes, requiring an in-depth understanding of end-to-end processes.

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant functional discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 6+ years of ServiceNow experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role, with hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in developing business requirements documentation, process maps and training materials, analyze complex business processes and requirements, and identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, necessary to successfully collaborate in a team environment and interact, including various levels of leadership.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment with general task definitions and manage concurrent tasks with competing priorities.
  • Ability to approach difficult problems with enthusiasm and creativity, and to shift focus when necessary.
  • Experience applying good judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills to identify solutions and resolve issues.

Additional qualifications at the E01.4 level

  • Advanced knowledge and extensive experience in end-to-end process design and implementation.
  • Broad and significant experience in planning and directing the analysis and design of complex business or scientific processes for multiple change initiatives across organization; managing multiple integrated projects and leading business transformation activities using project management methodologies, practices, techniques, and tools.
  • Experience in communicating vision effectively, preparing and presenting business process strategies and plans to all levels of management.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and processes is preferred.
  • ServiceNow, Process or ITSM certifications (e.g., SCRUM Master, ITIL Practitioner, Six Sigma) are a plus
  • Knowledge of LLNL policies, practices, organizational structures, culture, and missions.
