Job Description
What we're looking for: World of Concrete, the largest annual international commercial concrete and masonry construction trade show, is currently seeking an Education Specialist to provide support in the production and management of a multimillion dollar education program with a focus on content development and operational excellence. Role Accountability and Duties: This position will focus on the development and implementation of Business Education Courses.
- Contributes to content development by staying up to date with industry news relevant to the position
- Contributes to the overall success of the WOC Education program by delivering an exceptional experience for attendees, speakers preshow, onsite, and post-show
- Adheres to tight deadlines and takes a proactive approach to tasks
Provides speaker coordination support including:
- Relationship building with current and potential speakers
- Coordinating speaker proposal process and submissions
- Collecting speaker bios, headshots and other necessary information for promotion and print
- Collecting, reviewing, and producing presentationsand handouts
Provides Education planning, operations and marketing support that includes:
- Input details into education management software
- Updating session descriptions and details as needed
- Review print and digital marketing materials for accuracy and completion
- Update and improve production processes
- Work with speaker and internal staff to determine room sets, capacities and A/V
- Apply and maintain CEU and accreditation through various education entities as required
Provides onsite event production support that includes:
- Traveling to in-person event, 1-2 trips per year
- Speaker management Onsite
- Assist with training temporary staff
- Oversee A/V, PowerPoint setup, and speaker preparation
- Offer a high level of service to speakers, attendees, participating exhibitors, and sponsors at all times
Provides post show support that includes:
- Assist in post-show attendee evaluations for feedback on program, speaker and topic quality
- Participate in show review/download process to reflect and improve the show each year
- Contribute to post show data reporting
- Audit speaker reimbursements post show
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in exhibitions and/or education program development, passionateabout content and a strong desire to serve the industry
- Strong experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be able to showcase proficiency with typing and Microsoft Word
- Strong project management skills (ability to coordinate efforts, schedules and deadlines)and stakeholder management
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude,flexibility, and adaptability
- Comfortable working and problem-solving in fast and changing environment
- An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to take projects and run with them
- Thrives in team environment
Nice to Haves:
- Previous construction experience
- Experience with managing association partnerships
- Tradeshow experience
