Overview
  • As a Development Manager (Engineering Manager), you have overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of a typical single project of medium scope, or more than one small product or projects. This includes all aspects of the project, from initial planning to final delivery.
  • You will manage the project teams associated with the project, including recruiting and managing resources for the project, as well as coaching and mentoring members of the team to progress on their career paths.
  • You will coordinate with key constituents outside of PD, including PMG, Sales, Support, Services, and customers.
What you will do
  • Project Oversight: Manage the development, support, and implementation of projects through team leaders, ensuring successful project completion from planning to delivery

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with other departments and customers to ensure smooth project execution and address any cross-functional needs

  • Process Development: Create and implement processes, roadmaps, and plans for technology, hiring, training, and staffing

  • Risk and Quality Management: Monitor project milestones and team performance to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring high-quality outcomes

  • Impediment Resolution: Address and resolve any obstacles that hinder project progress, facilitating communication between teams as needed

  • Agile Practices: Ensure teams adhere to Agile development methodologies and standards

  • Team Development: Provide guidance and feedback to managers and architects, supporting their career growth and development; Handle performance appraisals and work allocation

  • Talent Management: Attract, motivate, and retain skilled team members, addressing any personnel issues and managing expenses within budget

  • Financial Management: Provide input on budget needs and align team efforts with department goals, escalating financial issues if necessary

  • Senior Management Advisory: Advise senior management on project-specific issues and lead teams that include senior architects and external resources

What we are looking for

    Required Experience:

    • Minimum 7 years of experience in a Software Engineering role in a large Enterprise software development environment
    • 5 years of experience managing a team of software engineers of 5 or more, including architect, and guiding them as Technical Lead
    • Experience mentoring and developing backend and/or client software engineers
    • Experiencing managing long-term delivery roadmap of a software product
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills (must be able to give honest, direct, and actionable feedback and directions)

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of Python, Microservices Architectures is required
    • Strong knowledge of cloud native applications is required
    • Strong knowledge of LLM Techniques, such as RAG, Eval, Red Teaming is a bonus

    The salary range for this position is $152,311 - $197,689

    The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
