Job Summary:
The Human Resources and Safety Business Partner will develop and implement HR and Safety strategies compliant with federal and state laws and will partner with senior leadership to align initiatives with business objectives. Responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the areas of safety compliance, HR administration, training and development, employee relations, incident management, compliance, and wellness and employee engagement. This position requires attention to detail, effective communication, experience working with upper management, and a sense of urgency.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal (OSHA) safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Design, maintain, and continuously improve safety policies and procedures. Lead cross functional teams on safety projects.
- HR Administration: Responsible for HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, benefit administration, employee relations, and offboarding. Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. Process changes related to employee benefits, leaves of absence, and payroll in a timely manner.
- Training and Development: Develop, coordinate, and lead training programs for employees and management, including new hire orientation, emergency response drills, safety education, and internal development opportunities. Document employee participation in trainings and file in a timely manner.
- Employee Relations: Address employee inquiries and concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Act as a trusted resource for employees and management.
- Incident Management: Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses. Document incidents and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences. Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting safety concerns and incidents. Serve as primary workers compensation coordinator and OSHA recordkeeper.
- Legal Compliance: Stay informed about changes to labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards. Ensure that all HR practices and safety protocols align with legal requirements and organizational policies, including the Employee Handbook.
- Wellness and Employee Engagement: Develop and implement wellness initiatives aimed at promoting employee health and well-being. Organize wellness and engagement activities, such as health screenings, company appreciation events, and community outreach. Assist with employee engagement survey process.
- Special projects or other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and/or talent management systems.

- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, and HR best practices.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR and/or Safety roles.
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment preferred.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Position will require quarterly business travel.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
