Essential Job Duties
Embracing the Wilson College culture, the Spinning Lab Research Specialist will value compassion, equality, collaboration, innovation and sustainability in meeting position duties and responsibilities as outlined below:

  • Work with the Spinning lab manager or supervisor to schedule projects and equipment
  • Operate equipment to create spun materials
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Communicate with customers to gather information regarding project specifications and timelines
  • Assist with academic course activities in the Spinning lab
  • Assist with short course activities in the Spinning lab\

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications


Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting customer specifications and translating them into process and machine settings
  • Experience handling textile materials.
  • Experience setting up and operating textile
  • Spinning machines.
  • Understanding of laboratory safety protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of the principles of textile production and processing
