As a Phlebotomist, you will work closely with our other lab staff to perform phlebotomy and collect appropriate samples from our patients who are either being seen by one of our providers and/or will be receiving outpatient infusion treatment. Responsibilities Here's what might happen on a typical day... You are in a very unique position as a phlebotomist with Tennessee Cancer Specialists. You will come in contact with most of the patients that come into our clinic. Whether the patient is being seen by one of our providers or is receiving treatment, the patient's labs provide our other clinical staff members with the information needed to make informed decisions on their treatment plans. Your compassion toward our patients helps put the patient at ease during this part of their experience within our clinic. Due to the nature of this specialty, you likely realize that certain patients are harder to perform phlebotomy on than others. Because of your experience and that fact that you know when to ask for help, this won't be an issue for you though! Experiences that matter...

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires 3-5 years experience. High school diploma or equivalent is recommended. Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy recommended. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands of this job typically require full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination in operation and manipulation of complex laboratory equipment. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time with the use hands to finger, handle, or feel and arms to reach or carry. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision, color perception and hearing to normal range. Requires legible handwriting.
