Job Description

The position will support PPPO's records digitization project through routine and repetitive tasks working to digitize a large collection of hardcopy records. The position will involve moving and shelving materials and will require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The position will report to the Records and Document Control Manager.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Support PPPO's records digitization project.
• Search Microsoft SharePoint for existing electronic copies of documents and/or records.
• Prepare hardcopy records for digitization (i.e., remove staples and paper clips, tape torn pages, remove documents from binders).
• Scan materials using flatbed and sheet-fed scanners.
• Review scanned files to ensure they match hardcopy.
• Upload records and apply appropriate metadata in Microsoft SharePoint.
• Ensure metadata is free of spelling and other errors.
• Update inventory tracking database to ensure current status of record collection.
• Prepare hardcopy documents for disposition or preservation depending on type of record.
• Track and report performance.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma
• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Knowledge of DOE requirements for management of environmental and project records, preparation of compliance documents as required for regulatory permits and in support of DOE operations
• Must have strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12)
