Director, People & Culture (People Operations) Hybrid from Reston, VA POSITION SUMMARY As the Director of People & Culture at SES SD, you are a pivotal leader within both the P&C organization and the broader SES SD community. Your role is to steer and harmonize People & Culture initiatives, ensuring they align with our company's philosophy, objectives, and legal standards. You will champion and implement innovative P&C programs, policies, and practices designed to attract, retain, and nurture our talented workforce. Your responsibilities encompass the comprehensive administration, coordination, and evaluation of all People & Culture operations, making a significant impact on our organizational success. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cross functional support within all levels of the business to achieve maximum business results
- Responsible for the execution of the operations of the P&C function, including but not limited to the following:
- Talent Management
- Hiring, Onboarding, Orientation, etc.
- Performance Management
- Compensation Management
- Support of Recruiting Management
- Support of Benefits Management
- Employee Relations
- Business Operations
- Learning & Development Management
- Recognition & Rewards Management
- Work within the leadership and employee population to define and develop the foundation of the SES SD people operations
- Responsible for the execution of P&C operations in alignment with SES SD P&C policies and practices to support the employment experience and align with culture
- Work with all departments within SES SD, to include Recruiting, to support the organizations diversity goals
- Leverage SES established tools and practices to support the SES SD people operations
- Support SES SD employer brand and incorporate the SES SD brand into all areas of P&C operations
- Acts as a resource to the business on P&C topics
- Designs and delivers P&C solutions in response to various requests and needs in the areas of: employee relations, recruiting, training and development, overall administration of performance and compensation programs;
- Ensures compliance with legislated requirements such as EEO, wage and hour, ADA, OSHA
- Identifies, analyzes escalated employee relation problems and takes appropriate action to correct such problems
- Coordinates with VP, People & Culture on potential legal problems, lawsuits and compliance issues
- Oversees the administration of the compensation and benefits programs for the Company to include pay adjustments, incentive and bonus programs
- Foster an engaged employee workforce allowing employees to provide input into decision making process affecting their jobs, or departments
- Assess staff training and development needs, coach and provide solutions
- Coaches and develops other less experienced P&C staff, as well as managers and supervisors
- Leads the annual performance and compensation management processes
- Support M&A activity such as organization design, slating, personnel actions, communications, and harmonization
- Support of all P&C initiatives and lead special projects as needed
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Represents the Company and its interests at various professional, industry and community associations to further the Company's name in the community or its positive relation- ship within the industry as well as identification of P&C best practices
- Provides oversight of SES SD Talent Acquisition and Benefits functions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 8-10 years direct-related experience
- Professional in People & Culture (PHR) certification or SHRM CP certification
- Familiarity with HRIS and ATS systems such as ADP, Deltek, SAP, etc.
- Strong compliance knowledge and ability to cross-collaborate with the legal department
- Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, difficult information and convey performance expectations
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and work cross-functionally
- Experience leading HR teams and initiatives, indirect or direct
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field
- Government contracting industry experience
- Strong knowledge Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Organizational and project management skills
The base salary range for this full-time position is $145,000.00 - $185,000.00 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
