Position Purpose |
To serve as the primary point of contact for medical students seeking research opportunities, strengthening institutional support for medical student research and promoting student scholarly development. To streamline access to interdisciplinary research by connecting students with faculty mentors, research vice chairs, and institutional resources. To create and manage infrastructure that enhances student engagement and ensures a structured approach to research participation. To facilitate essential administrative functions, including travel reimbursement management, to remove barriers and support students in disseminating their research. |

Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience |
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
- Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years experience or the equivalent combination in education and experience.
- Experience in program management, preferably in an academic or research setting.
- Knowledge of research processes and academic requirements.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying improvement opportunities and resolving problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage logistical and administrative details of multiple tasks or projects.
- Ability to work effectively, independently, and as a member of a team.
- Proficiency in database management, spreadsheets, and other computer software.
- Proficient with computer applications, including website updates and database entry and management.
- Ability to maintain and foster confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and interact with all levels of employees, management, and leadership.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Description |
Program Development and Implementation
- Develops and maintains a database on research opportunities, ensuring students have easy access to relevant information.
- Supports the development and implementation of the longitudinal Capstone course, providing structure and curriculum to enhance MD student research engagement.
- Organizes and supports research fairs and forums to connect students with Principal Investigators (PIs) and provides platforms for students to share their work.
- Tracks and processes student requests for research conference travel funding.
- Tracks and maintains records of student research publications.
- Develops materials and maintains websites, newsletters, and other communications to ensure up to date information on research services and events.
- Trains students on policies and procedures for expense reimbursement, processes invoices and reimbursement as needed.
