The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Technician B to provide general research support in translational research on the human microbiome, drug resistance and pathogenesis of bacterial infections.

Responsibilities


  • Conduct experiments, analyze results and maintain scientific records.
  • Carry out standard procedures for protocols
  • Perform microbiological and molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, RT-PCR, library preparations, and whole genome sequencing under supervision.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, comply with laboratory safety regulations, and provide quality control.
  • Performs other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory and its research projects.

Minimum Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience



Preferred Qualifications



  • Prior research experience


Other Requirements



  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made
  • Participation in medical surveillance program
  • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
