Summary of role

We are seeking a candidate to lead complex cross-functional projects through all phases of the project lifecycle and across multiple locations in MA, NJ and elsewhere as the company expands its footprint. The candidate will act as an internal consultant for the Engineering and Facilities department whose responsibilities are broadly defined across Planning, Complex Project Execution and Mentoring/Peer Review. This candidate will plan and execute early-stage engineering studies to support long term strategic investment planning for Infrastructure, Real Estate and Manufacturing assets at Lantheus. Additionally, this candidate will act as a mentor and as a seasoned technical resource for junior staff, providing expertise during scope definition, early-stage design reviews and leadership during safety reviews. Travel is required.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Project Management:

* Project Management responsibility for complex projects in the $5M- $50M range in MA and NJ. Align complex scope with senior management stakeholders and drive the execution of external design partners and construction firms to deliver the right scope at the right time. Coordinate and lead team review of designs/deliverables and document decisions accordingly.

* Build strong, coherent, and passionate project teams that can dig into and solve project-related problems and deliver the project on time and on-budget. Lead team members during project execution including Manufacturing staff, Facilities staff, multiple outside vendors and contractors.

* Use best practice project planning tools and management principles to initiate, design, develop, and evaluate plans for assigned projects and hold projects on budget and schedule coordinating parallel activities.

* Execute contracting strategy and establish project contracts as needed to onboard external resources and drive efficient and timely project execution.

* Manage all aspects of project financial controls and reporting for assigned projects.

* Cross-functionally coordinate across the enterprise and align supporting groups in Finance, Operations, Legal and Corp Communications as needed to support project execution.

* Establish and execute project governance activities delivered to senior Operations, Finance and Quality leadership

Strategic Support and Internal Consulting:

* Support due diligence and business development activities as requested

* Prepare early-stage project cost estimates as requested for annual budget planning. Drive alignment on initial project scope through Feasibility-level planning and aligning key stakeholders on scope.

* Act as an internal consultant by mentoring junior staff and participating as a peer reviewer for early stage design reviews, for project budget reviews, and for revisions to engineering procedures and standards

* Establish and lead a rigorous but efficient Design Safety, HAZOP and Construction safety program. Align these programs with EHS and champion this approach inside Facilities and Engineering.

Basic Qualifications

* 4-year BS degree in engineering is required. Advanced degree in industry relevant discipline or MBA is a plus.

* This position is site-based and requires a presence on-site three days per week.

* Minimum of 20 years preferred for Project Engineering & Management experience leading cross-functional project teams for design, construction, commissioning & qualification, and start-up with a proven track record of on-time & on-budget performance for complex projects related to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities.

* Strong understanding of project accounting including accruals, budgets, cash-flows and monthly reporting requirements

* Strong technical skills in pharmaceutical equipment, utilities systems, and facilities engineering preferred. Basic understanding of building and equipment automation capabilities and industry best practices. This candidate must have a broad and powerful professional network to leverage the right expertise at the right time.

* The ability to navigate and communicate up and down the organization through efficient, accurate, and persuasive written and oral communications.

* Strong knowledge of engineering standards and all applicable regulatory requirements including: Building Codes, Factory Mutual, Environmental, GMP/GLP, OSHA and ADA.

* Strong understanding of Quality Systems. Solid understanding of cGMPs. Able to interpret CFRs in establishing current practices.

* Ability and willingness to accommodate flexible scheduling including off-hours and week-end work.

* Travel up to 50% percent.

Other Requirements

* This individual should be a self-starter with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and technical skills, with the capability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong analytical and communications skills are critical.

* Project Management education, training, and/or PMP certification is desirable.

* Affiliations with relevant industry associations, such as ISPE, PDA, etc.
