Manager, Workday Adaptive Financial Systems

Job Description:

The Manager, Workday Adaptive Financial Systems will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting processes for NextGen Healthcare. In partnership with the senior leadership, this is a critical role in strengthening NextGen's financial performance by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data used in the strategic decision-making process. This role will develop and manage financial models within Adaptive Planning and provide analysis, guidance, and support to maximize the value derived from the software.
  • Perform Adaptive Planning administration, which includes access rights, technical configuration, workflow management, custom fields/validations, data governance, and departmental structure.
  • Develop and manage improved integrations, between Adaptive Planning and other systems such as Workday, Snowflake, PowerBI, and others, to minimize the level of manual intervention.
  • Manage the financial planning process with Adaptive Planning as the primary tool in annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and Board of Directors updates.
  • Build reports and dashboards in Adaptive Planning and its Office Connect Excel add-on to increase the productivity of the team and to deliver more timely actionable insights.
  • Review offline spreadsheet financial models and then implement the equivalent functionality into Adaptive Planning to strengthen workflow automation.
  • Collaborate closely with department leaders to understand business needs and challenges while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance performance and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze variances between financial results and budget/forecast to identify key performance drivers.
  • Travel up to 10% annually.
  • Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Finance or other preferred.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
Experience Required:
  • 6+ years of experience with Adaptive Planning administration, implementation, and integrations.
  • 6+ years of Finance experience, with an active knowledge of financial planning, workforce management, GAAP, and revenue recognition.
  • Proven track record of distilling complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
License/Certification Required:
  • Workday Adaptive Planning Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of:Designing, developing, testing, and delivering Workday Adaptive models. Workday integrations. Administration of Adaptive Planning. Strong proficiency with a variety of analytics tools and resources.
  • Skill in:Passion for using technology to drive innovation and the strong interpersonal skills necessary to influence cross-functional stakeholders. Skilled at multi-tasking between model management, day to day support, team management and project management. Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and expertise managing multiple large projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to:Manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Convert complex information into understandable and persuasive oral and written presentations. Meet multiple deadlines across a variety of initiatives with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. Apply expertise and knowledge to improve efficiencies of processes and/or teams. Establish and maintain relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to understand goals, translate those into business requirements, and design and execute analyses that drive actionable insights.
