Location: Newport News, Virginia (JBLE)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time/Day Shift

Compensation: $30.51 - $30.51/hour

Tessera is seeking a motivated and reliable Supply Technician (Supply Support Activity) with a professional attitude. The Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging and property utilization) related to depot, local or other supply activities. The work is usually segregated by commodity area or function and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Maintains files IAW the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS)
  • Input turn in, receipts, modifications, cancellations and follow-up documents.
  • Process high priority walk through requests.
  • Prioritize tasks to better serve our users and optimize management of available time and resources.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with issues on documents.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive user support knowledge base.
  • Ensures that all G-Army actions are entered correctly and completely as outlined in current policies and procedures.
  • Maintain supply records that properly account for all SRA material and stocks.
  • Prepare all required reports and reports needed to effectively manage the SRA and the SSA.
  • Research all supply transactions as required to keep all actions up to date and within established parameters of supply operations performance.
  • Customer interface to determine overdue material/parts, receive and process transactions and answer technical questions as needed.
  • Release Strategy will be worked within 24 hours.
  • Monitor all Class VII excess and work with Item Manager for disposition instructions.
  • Input inventory counts as needed.
  • Research inventory discrepancies as needed.
  • Responsible for processing Supply Discrepancy Reports as needed.
  • Monitor the Warehouse Monitor constantly throughout the day.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years Army Warehousing/Supply Experience
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of the governing supply regulations, supply-related automated information systems, programs, policies, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the customer's needs.
  • Must be able to collect and organize information, identify sources of potential problems, and provide recommended courses of action to correct the problem.
  • Must have a background in inventory management, material coordination, cataloging, warehousing, issue and turn-in requirements and documentation.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Valid State Driver's license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance company.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
