About the Role

We are looking for a Linux-proficient Hardware Fleet Support Specialist to support Linux-basedhardware systems essential to cloud gaming across a global hardware fleet. This role focuses on Linuxterminal-based troubleshooting beyond documented workflows, investigating recurring issues, andimproving documentation and runbooks. You will partner with various engineering groups to transitionoperational support work to the Hardware Fleet Operations team. The role also includes buildinglightweight scripts or basic automation to reduce manual effort and enable other support teams to handlerepeatable tasks more efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing



  • Respond to operational support requests in a 24/5 environment, meeting SLAs and prioritizing work across internal customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Troubleshoot and support Linux-based hardware systems using terminal-based tools, addressing issues that require investigation beyond existing documentation.
  • Identify recurring operational issues and work with engineering teams to stabilize and operationalize support workflows.
  • Create, update, and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and internal documentation based on real-world support findings.
  • Develop and maintain lightweight scripts or simple automation to reduce manual tasks and improve operational consistency.
  • Support the transition of operational workloads from engineering teams into the Hardware Fleet Operations team.


Core Knowledge



  • Linux terminal-based troubleshooting
  • Basic scripting or automation (e.g., Bash, Python, or similar)
  • IT support fundamentals, including systems and basic networking concepts (Network+ level orequivalent)


What We're Looking For



  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience supporting or troubleshooting Linux-based systems.
  • Prior experience in a technical support, operations, or IT service delivery role.
  • Comfortable in working primarily in Linux terminal environments.
  • Experience following and improving runbooks, documentation, and operational processes.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow in an operations context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document issues andsolutions for technical and non-technical audiences.

At SIE, working with our partners, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.
$40 $45 USD
