Job Description

The team leader monitors and coordinates team activities. Give importance to individual members and the overall team's achievements of established goals. Ensures the teams goals are aligned and represent the company's overall directive. Acts as a liaison between team members and the rest of the organization. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience, judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to a Supervisor and could assumes supervisory duties in their absence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Maintain time and production records
  • Responsible for the JD Edwards system
  • Run lines as needed
  • Assist with investigating quality issues (5-Why)
  • Read standards
  • Check all emergency stop buttons
  • Check the set-up
  • Assigned work area will be cleaned and kept neat and orderly during every workday
  • Will recognize and comply with all safety rules
  • Will work overtime as requested by supervisor or scheduled
  • Maintain all oil and coolant levels
  • Remove chips from clipgroove machine
  • Clean out chips from all lathes, empty chip hoppers and scrap
  • Complete recuts and repairs
  • Floors swept and mopped (within reason)
  • Machines wiped down (within reason)
  • Ensure machines running at shift change
  • Paperwork completed (to include down time)
  • Work with Supervisor about assigning cross training team members
  • Any other duties assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:




  • Team Lead experience preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with gauging instruments
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to multitask
  • Organizational skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Capable of learning various software
  • High School Diploma



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Strength & Stamina: Ability to lift heavy components and work for extended hours.
  • Manual Dexterity: Precision in handling tools and mechanical parts.
  • Coordination & Balance: Skill to manage heavy machinery and tight spaces.
  • Vision & Hearing: Good vision for inspection and sharp hearing for detecting mechanical issues.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and resolve conflicts within the team.
  • Problem-Solving: Critical thinking for diagnosing and addressing mechanical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in repairs and installations, following safety protocols.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in prop shaft systems and machinery.
  • Time Management: Efficiently planning tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Communication: Clear, effective communication with team and management.
  • Safety Awareness: Enforcing safety measures and protocols.
  • Stress Management: Staying calm and focused under pressure.
