As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we have four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US. We are currently seeking a Research Nurse / Open to RN's, LPN's or Paramedics, to lead and support our Clinical Pharmacology Start-up team in initiating Early Phase clinical trials for our clients with maximum speed and efficiency. This is a full-time, weekend overnight (Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6pm -6:30am) shift schedule, office/clinic-based position in Dallas, TX. Multiple openings. If you join us, you will work with some of the worlds leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in a vital stage of clinical development: establishing the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of a new drug. Many Nurses are drawn to their profession because of its direct impact on patient care. If this is your case, you will not miss that working in Phase 1 trials. Whilst allowing you to have a close face-to-face relationship with participants, and as you continue to practice your clinical skills and knowledge, youll be involved with the latest medical technologies and treatments, witnessing their development firsthand. When the drug you worked with gets approved, you know youll touch many patients lives around the world. WHAT YOU WILL DO Learn. And grow. No two days will be the same; and this is because in the clinic you will be exposed to a wide variety of Therapeutic Indications and study types (ascending dose, first-in-human, food effect, drug to drug interactions, etc.). Other key responsibilities:
Provide high standard of care for clinical trial participants, utilizing nursing diagnosis and clinical judgment, and respond to emergencies based on nursing standards. Observe participant well-being, document adverse events, and take appropriate action. Obtain Informed Consent, educate participants on study procedures, and administer investigational compounds according to protocol. Perform study-related activities such as cannulation, telemetry, vital signs, ECGs, and venipuncture. Collect and process biological samples, record data accurately, and transcribe source data onto Case Report Forms. Other duties as assigned.
YOU NEED TO BRING...
Associate's Degree or BS degree in nursing with current licensure in applicable state. Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements. EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA or CNA certification, preferred. 0 - 1 years of nursing experience. Paramedics must be certified.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel. Exposure to biological fluids. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 10-12 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment. Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck. Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs. Regular and consistent attendance. Varied hours may be required.
