General Summary:

As a Software Engineer at our credit union, you'll be an integral part of our digital transformation initiatives. You'll help develop innovative financial software solutions that enhance our members' digital experience. In this entry-level role, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers, product managers, designers, and data analysts to create technology that drives member retention, acquisition, and engagement.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop complex, user-centric financial software solutions using TypeScript and modern frameworks





  • Collaborate with other technical and non-technical partners to understand platforms, integration points (API, Services) and database structures





  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like terraform to streamline the deployment process





  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, including code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing





  • Drive and be accountable for all the assigned tasks and remain continuously self-challenged in setting and delivering assigned deadlines





  • Architect and develop solutions that align with the credit union's strategic objectives





  • Recommend improvements to optimize existing systems or integrate new systems to enhance application and system functionality





  • Ensure that the applications meet security, performance, and scalability requirements.





  • Comply with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements.




Non-essential Duties & Responsibilities

Experience and Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or technical field or equivalent years of experience.

Experience: 2 - 5 years of software development experience in fintech, financial services, or a related field.

Experience building and launching customer-facing software products with a strong user experience focus.

Strong experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., git) and understanding of software development principles and practices.

Experience with cloud platforms (MS Azure, AWS, etc.)

Experience and understanding of CI/CD tools.

Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.

Skills:



  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and implementation techniques
  • Proficiency with CI/CD workflows and infrastructure as code
  • Ability to optimize application performance and scalability
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices for financial applications
  • Experience with cloud architecture and deployment patterns
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies
  • Capacity to balance the technical debt with business needs effectively


Communication: Must have superior interpersonal skills and be comfortable engaging with people from a wide variety of roles, cultures, and economic backgrounds.

Location: Remote opportunities in the following states ONLY: MD & DC (Minimum $98,527.91 - $147,791.87), VA, CT, FL, IL, LA, MA, NC, SC, TX, New York, NY (Minimum $99,325.71 - Maximum $148,988.57) and Seattle, WA (Minimum $94,140.03 - Maximum $141,210.05)
