Description Join Our Public Works Team as a 3rd Shift Equipment Operator! City of West Allis - Where Your Skills Make a Difference Are you an experienced operator of front-end loaders and other motorized equipment? Do you enjoy working with a variety of machinery and tackling diverse assignments? If so, this 3rd Shift Equipment Operator position is the perfect opportunity for you! What You'll Do As a 3rd Shift Equipment Operator, you'll play a vital role in keeping our city running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include: Operating a variety of equipment and machinery, such as: Trucks and tandem vehicles Large rubber-tired end loaders Street sweepers Snow blowers for front-end loaders Dickey-John salt spreading systems Refuse and recycling packers Assisting with snow removal operations, including applying salt and sand Performing routine manual labor related to equipment operation, construction, maintenance, and service activities Maintaining accurate work records and compiling related reports Working in various weather conditions, including temperature extremes, odors, noise, and dust What You Bring A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence Comfort using technology and willingness to learn new equipment Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing priorities Ability to work independently during overnight hours Availability for Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 2-3 years of recent experience operating front-end loaders Ability to learn and operate specialized municipal equipment (street sweepers, snow removal equipment) Valid Wisconsin CDL (Class B or C with air brakes) Ability to obtain a Tanker (N) endorsement within 12 months of hire Good driving record per City policy Why Work With Us?
