Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking IT/Security Specialist to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will configure and support a local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system related to electronic security. You may maintain network hardware and software and monitor networks to ensure network availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability on an assigned customer site. As an IT/Security Specialist, you will program, test, repair, and service our customers' Lenel Access Control and IP Video system.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

- Configure and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned customer Security projects and service.
- Work directly with client IT departments to ensure all scope and interface is planned and implemented. Provide IT/networking consulting support for client as necessary.
- Monitor and review system log reports and network documentation.
Assist Project/Service Specialists with IT/networking security technical issues on projects and service calls. - Assist the sales team with developing proposals and designs for sales proposals. Provide more complex technical advice as required for system planning.
- May be responsible for building, maintaining and providing security on routers and firewalls.
- Act as our customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customers first choice for service.
- Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance.
- Review and identify new products & tools to improve productivity and efficiencies.
- May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
- Identify potential project risks, communicate to appropriate parties and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and to control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
- Work closely with the customer and assist in the overall coordination of specific projects; make recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope and identify ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- May provide onsite assistance with startup, check out and turnover processes.
- May provide diagnostic and troubleshooting support for possible problems including debugging software, installation problems etc.
- May perform systems upgrades on large, Enterprise Class systems including acting as the team lead when additional manpower is necessary.
What You'll Need
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comprehensive understanding of physical access control systems (PACS) and network video systems.
- Ability to navigate a network environment using remote support tools.
- Ability to manage the day-today activities through a self-motivated attitude that ensures your assigned tasks and/or projects are completed effectively and in a timely manner. Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.
- Ability to communicate both technical and project requirements to the different stakeholders.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Requirements:
Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience: 5-7 years of computer network/security
Preferred Experience (but not required):
- College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
- Access Control and IP Video
