Responsibilities

Are you ready to take the reins of a transformative data journey? We are seeking a visionary leader to define and own our company-wide data strategy, roadmap, and operating model. This is your chance to lead the end-to-end data function, encompassing analytics, engineering, governance, platform, and vendor management.

Your Mission:

  • Set the Vision: Drive alignment across business functions and establish data as a product to maximize its value.
  • Advise Leadership: Serve as the principal advisor to executive leadership on all data-related matters, guiding strategic decisions.
  • Deliver Impact: Oversee the delivery of analytics, data pipelines, governance initiatives, and reporting products that drive results.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Initiatives: Establish and lead high-impact data initiatives, ensuring timely execution that resonates throughout the organization.

Empower Your Team:

  • Manage and mentor internal team members while overseeing offshore engineering and analytics partners.
  • Own the intake, prioritization, and sprint planning processes across the data portfolio to ensure seamless execution.

Champion Governance and Quality:

  • Own enterprise data governance, including policies, metadata, lineage, access controls, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Champion data quality and trust, ensuring the consistency and accuracy of key metrics and definitions.

Innovate with Technology:

  • Implement cutting-edge tooling and practices for cataloging, lineage (e.g., Azure Purview), and auditability.
  • Oversee technical architecture decisions in partnership with the Data Architect / Lead Engineer to drive standardization, scalability, and modernization of our Azure-based data platform.

Optimize Operations:

  • Ensure robust infrastructure, pipeline reliability, and cost-effective cloud operations that empower our data-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data leadership roles, including at least 2 years leading data strategy and cross-functional teams.
  • A proven track record of owning both strategy and execution of enterprise data programs.
  • A deep understanding of modern cloud data platforms, preferably Azure (Synapse, ADF, Data Lake, Purview).
  • Strong experience in data governance frameworks, healthcare compliance (HIPAA), and secure architecture practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
  • Experience managing offshore teams and vendor delivery models.
