Moog's Santa Barbara Operationsprovides sub-systems and components for every mission critical system on a modern military vehicle. Our heritage is in electrohydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems and now, through acquisitions and internal development, Moog provides expert solutions in:

  • Stabilized Turret Drive Systems

  • Integrated WeaponSystems (full turret from mechanical design to fire control electronics and software)

  • Ammunition Handling

  • Data Control and Distribution

  • Power Management and Distribution

We are looking fora System Engineer at our location in Santa Barbara, California. We provide sub-systems and components for every mission critical system on a modern military vehicle. Our heritage is in electrohydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems and now, through acquisitions and internal development,

Here's what you'll be working on day to day:

  • Be responsible for the system design of environmentally robust, high reliability liner and rotary actuators.

  • Evaluate the system design using a variety of engineering disciplines to include mechanical, structural dynamics, electrical, thermal and rotary motion leading to development of integrated electromechanical systems and electromechanical motion systems.

  • Based on fundamental engineering principles, predict the system level performance of candidate approaches and select the optimum approach to specific applications.

  • Lead an integrated product development team to insure timely and successful project completion.

  • Understand/interpret customer specifications and requirements.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% depending on mission requirement. (historically has been 10%-15%)

Here's what you'll need to bring with:

  • Bachelor's in engineering

  • 3 years of experience in the system development and integration

  • Experience working in team environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • High level of motivation and willingness to learn

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to access US export-controlled information

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance

It would be great if you also had:

  • Turret fire control systems design, integration, and test experience

  • MATLAB/Simulink expertise

  • Active DoD Security Clearance

Salary Range Transparency:

Santa Barbara, CA $120,000.00-$155,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
