DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will play a key role in shaping administrative policies and management strategies within the Office for School Climate and Well-Being. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the statewide programming for Learning Environment initiatives, which encompass mental health, substance use, and trauma support across the Commonwealth. You will also lead the development of both short-term and long-term fiscal policies and plans for the office at local, intermediate unit, and statewide levels. A significant aspect of your role will involve participating in critical decisions regarding office activities, budget allocations, and project approvals or rejections. Furthermore, you will work closely with the Office Director to manage and supervise the professional and administrative staff within the Office for School Climate and Well-Being. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Organizational or Location Restrictions:
- This posting is restricted to Safe Schools Office (Office for School Climate and Well-Being) employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of education, including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

This position is not subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. You must be eligible for selection in accordance with merit system employment regulations. Recruitment Methods:

Promotion Without Examination (PWOE):
- Class Restrictions for Promotion Without Examination Only - You must have or have held regular civil service status in one of the following classifications:
- Basic Education Associate 2
- Employees who previously held regular civil service status in the job title of the position being filled are also eligible for promotion without examination.
- The promotion without examination requirements are issued in accordance with merit system employment regulations.
- Meritorious service is defined as (a) the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12 months preceding the closing date of the posting, and (b) the last regular or probationary performance evaluation showing an overall rating of satisfactory or higher.
- Applicants must have a minimum of one year in the next lower class by the posting closing date with no break in service.
