Summary:

This role will be responsible for preparing financial and business related analyses in support of the Retail Business. Will prepare forecasts, analyze business performance, review data and prepare monthly reports and metrics. Will conduct financial and business related studies and cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex project and asset financial models that forecast detailed profit and loss, cash flows, and balance sheets
  • Work closely with the Business Segment teams to determine appropriate modeling assumptions and structuring
  • Responsible for ensuring that all assumptions and modeling are reasonable and accurate
  • Perform analysis to determine present & future financial performance, returns and cash impacts
  • Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, future requirements, operating forecasts, etc.
  • Prepares monthly variance analyses
  • Assists in the development of standardized reporting of key performance indicators that will be reported in monthly scorecards
  • Interacts with other departments, as well as external and internal auditors to research and resolve items on a timely basis
  • Researches technical issues as needed related to primary job responsibilities
  • Participates in special projects as assigned by management
  • Monitors effectiveness of business processes, conducts analysis, makes recommendations, and coordinates implementation for system and process improvements resulting in timely and correct completion of issues
  • Performs all aspects of work with a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or economics from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-3 years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred two years of finance experience in operations within the energy industry or in a shared services model.
  • Highly proficient in the operation of computers and windows-based software and knowledge of Excel. Hyperion experience preferred

  • Works independently through the use of initiative and self-motivation. Must be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excels in quickly conceptualizing and assimilating data to make decisions and take appropriate action
  • Good written skills to document processes, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment. Able to take a leadership role in a team to establish plans, coordinate activities, and assure successful completion of objectives
  • Proficient in communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form
  • Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid work schedule; a combination of working remotely from home and 3 days a week in the office
  • Open office environment
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise
  • Limited travel if any
