Job Summary

In the role of the Warehouse Team Lead, you will oversee material distribution operations along with overseeing the hourly and temporary Material Handler employees to ensure timely distribution of materials between the production floor and inventory, loading and unloading of trucks and staging finished product in designated inventory location.

Responsibilities



  • You will adhere to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules and regulations and communicate to ensure all safety procedures are strictly adhered to by material handlers.
  • You will safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unload trucks, and transfer material within the plant and within departments.
  • You will assist to maintain a well-organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock locations as defined by management.
  • You will coordinate with the Shipping Clerk and/or Logistics Supervisor to prepare finished stock for outbound shipment by identifying, inspecting, pulling, and staging product in correct location.
  • You will be responsible for assisting with training material handlers; planning, assigning, and directing work and communicating all complaints and problems to management.
  • You will ensure the production line has adequate supplies to operate.
  • You will have SAP responsibilities and be a back up to the Logistics Supervisor and Shipping & Receiving Clerk for receiving of inbound loads and shipping of outbound loads.
  • You will ensure that any maintenance or repair issues for the building facilities, vehicles, and equipment are addressed timely and communicated to the management.
  • This position will monitor material handler's work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to quality standards, common practices and procedures.

  • Be knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment.

  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Inside work
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+
  • Personal Protective Equipment required



Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing, stooping, sitting
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding



Position Type



  • Full time
  • Overtime expected per business demand



Education and Experience



  • 3-5+ years of sit-down forklift experience
  • 3-5+ years of inventory control and process improvement experience
  • Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge
  • 3-5+ years MS Office experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
