Job Description: The School Improvement Coach/Coord is a critical leadership position that drives student success by overseeing data systems, coordinating schoolwide assessments, and supporting collaborative instructional improvement. The coach will serve as a key member of the Instructional Leadership Team, working to accelerate academic achievement, promote equity, and ensure full compliance with federal and state accountability measures. Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Licensure: Valid Virginia Department of Education teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one) required; Administration and Supervision endorsement preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching or school leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in using data to drive instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
- Proven experience leading schools out of federal accountability status, including successful support of targeted or comprehensive school improvement plans.
- Experience in managing federal grant funding.
- Background in coordinating assessments, overseeing testing protocols, and analyzing student achievement data.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, MS Office.
School Improvement & Instructional Leadership
- Serve as a core member of the Instructional Leadership Team and School Improvement Team, supporting execution of the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP).
- Provide technical assistance to staff in meeting division, state, and federal accountability expectations.
- Facilitate quarterly data dialogues and coach teachers in using data to develop instructional action plans aligned with school goals.
- Attend and contribute to grade-level PLCs, particularly in core content and SOL-tested areas.
- Design and manage a comprehensive student data tracking system that includes CAAR, standards-based assessments, and intervention progress.
- Co-lead all schoolwide testing activities, including calendar creation, staff training, secure material handling, and fidelity monitoring.
- Partner with the Department of Accountability to ensure testing protocols, exemptions, and modifications meet all state and federal requirements.
- Present and interpret student performance data to inform academic interventions and schoolwide planning.
Student Intervention & Equity Leadership
- Coordinate and Lead MTSS-based interventions in partnership with instructional specialists and classroom teachers.
- Use disaggregated data to monitor equity gaps and advocate for targeted supports for students most in need.
- Plan and implement remediation and enrichment activities aligned to student growth data and intervention outcomes.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, culturally responsive instruction, and student-centered support systems.
Additional Duties
- Attend district-level trainings and support governance meetings as needed.
- Assist the principal with operational and academic tasks that contribute to an effective, accountable, and collaborative school environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Samuel Tucker Elementary School.
