DATA ANALYST

SUMMARY

The data
analyst is responsible for processing all of ProTechnics' completions
diagnostics data into final client deliverables accurately and within the
expected turnaround times. Services include chemical tracer data,
spectral gamma ray logging of proppant tracers, pressure/temperature logs, and
density+spectral gamma logging of sand control
completions. Responsibilities will also include explaining and
interpreting all of the above products to internal and external clients as needed.

This is a great
opportunity for wireline or LWD field engineers looking to transition out of
field operations. While some after-hours and weekend/holiday work
will be required, it's done from the office...no last minute trips halfway across
the state.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Offshore
Spectral Gamma/Density Logging:

  • Quickly and accurately process all offshore logging data into final client deliverables (log images, LAS files, PowerPoint slide decks, etc.) within the required 2-4 hour turnaround time.
  • Have sufficient understanding of the log to be able to answer any processing questions from internal or external clients and aid in the interpretation of the log.

Onshore
Spectral Gamma Logging:

  • Process spectral gamma ray and pressure/temperature log data into all standard client deliverables.
  • Have sufficient understanding of the logs to be able to explain the processing as well as interpret the final results to internal and external clients.
  • Be able to modify standard deliverables as well as create new ones from scratch as required to meet client needs.

Chemical Data:

  • QC and load field injection records into internal databases.
  • Process chemical tracer data from the analytical lab into standard reports as well as all extra deliverables (3D wellbore views, inter-well communication matrices, plot representations, etc) at a high level of accuracy and speed.
  • Independently identify and troubleshoot any problems with the data itself or the processing of same.

Other Duties:

  • Role may also include processing and analysis of production log data (spinner, temperature, fluid density, etc.).
  • As needed, assist in or take full ownership of one-off and longer-term projects that fall outside the scope of routine daily work

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2- or 4- year degree, in engineering, geology, or another petroleum-related field preferred. High School or GED required.
  • 1-2 plus years' experience in a well-log field-acquisition or processing strongly preferred (open- or cased-hole).
  • Experience in production log processing or acquisition is a plus.
  • Offshore jobs must be processed as soon as data is received from the field so availability for night/weekend/holiday processing is required.
  • Chemical tracer data and onshore logs occasionally require night/weekend/holiday processing so availability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for these products is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Basic level in any of: VBA, Python, or SQL helpful.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including using and troubleshooting VBA macros helpful.
