Position Overview

The Security & Emergency (SEM) Analyst II plays a pivotal role within the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), providing 24/7/365 security systems monitoring, all-hazards (e.g., natural hazards, human impact events, reputational events) threat awareness, and incident coordination across Exact Science's global operations. This role is critical to ensuring the security, safety, and business continuity of Exact Science's employees, guests, facilities, and assets. The SEM Analyst utilizes a deep understanding of evolving global risks, comprehensive threat management, and security & emergency protocols to protect Exact Science's community worldwide.

From the GSOC watch floor, the SEM Analyst coordinates with internal partners and external agencies to drive emergency response, incident management, and crisis recovery efforts. The role demands a proactive approach to security risk assessment, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a strong ability to communicate with key stakeholders during both normal and escalated situations. The SEM Analyst works to ensure organizational resilience, with a focus on incident monitoring and response. The SEM Analyst is responsible for generating and communicating the enterprise Common Operating Picture (COP).

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Emergency Response & Incident Management: Serve as the primary contact for emergencies affecting Exact Sciences' operations. Lead initial incident responses, escalating critical situations to senior leadership and coordinating with internal teams and external emergency services. Monitor alarm activity and dispatch security teams or emergency responders as needed. Support the activation of the Incident Command System (ICS) to ensure structured crisis management.
  • Threat Monitoring & Risk Analysis: Continuously monitor global risk intelligence platforms to identify emerging threats, including natural disasters, security risks, and geopolitical events. Evaluate and analyze all-source intelligence to provide timely situational awareness and escalate threats as necessary. Track employee travel plans to ensure safety and provide security briefings as required.
  • Operations & Communications: Facilitate emergency and non-emergency communications via mass notification systems and other communication tools. Document incidents and compile detailed reports using records management systems (RMS). Serve as a liaison to internal stakeholders and external emergency responders during critical incidents. Disseminate real-time updates to key stakeholders, including executives, during crisis events.
  • Preparedness & Training: Plan and participate in regular emergency drills and system tests, identifying gaps and recommending improvements. Support business continuity efforts by conducting risk assessments and participating in scenario planning.
  • Security System Oversight: Monitor access control systems, video surveillance, and other security platforms to detect and respond to irregularities. Assist with access control requests and system audits to maintain compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate logs of security-related activities and incidents, ensuring compliance with internal protocols. Participate in post-incident reviews to refine protocols and improve response strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Emergency Management, Business Continuity, Security, or a related field; or High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of relevant experience in emergency management, security operations, crisis management, or business continuity.
  • Experience in incident coordination and emergency response management, ideally in a global or corporate environment.
  • Strong ability to synthesize real-time data and make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency with CAD systems, RMS, and global risk intelligence platforms.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Position requires working assigned shifts including days, evenings, nights or weekends.
  • Position is considered an "essential position" meaning when business necessity and continuity needs are emergent, this position will be required to report to work and may be required to work hours beyond an employee's normal shift.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with Company and Departmental policy.
  • Must be available for overtime work and callouts as required to ensure continuance of efficient operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or experience in ICS, NIMS, or related emergency management protocols.
  • Experience working in a Fortune 500 company or large-scale, global enterprise.
  • Proficiency in mass notification systems and global risk assessment tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with a critical and curious mindset.
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision, maintaining a high degree of initiative and responsibility.

Salary Range:

$51,000.00 - $81,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
