Systems Engineer
Status: Exempt (Salaried) Department: Systems Engineering Position Summary Plug Power is the industry leader providing hydrogen-powered fuel cell systems for material handling equipment, backup power systems and on-road vehicles. The Systems Engineer is responsible for system level design of fuel cell systems. Systems team is responsible for the architecture and software controls of fuel cell systems for E mobility, stationery and industrial truck market. An ideal candidate should exhibit exceptional communication and project management skills along with a strong background in engineering. This individual must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and is willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization Core Duties and Responsibilities Develop system architecture, system requirements, subsystem requirements and control of next generation fuel cell systems Create system and subsystem specification/controls and documentation to meet customer requirements Design and improve control algorithms and state machines to maximize fuel cell efficiency and performance Develop architectures for fuel cell systems to the applicable codes and standards. Participate in FMEA and Hazard analysis of fuel cell and related systems Develop and execute system level testing and data analysis Develop and execute validation plans for fuel cells for end user applications Work professionally and cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment with a focus upon maximizing system performance and customer satisfaction Represent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfaction Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, Chemical or systems engineering or related field. Minimum two years of related work experience in fuel cell systems or related field. Experience with fuel cell system architecture and controls is preferred. Demonstrated aptitude for systems thinking and creative problem solving Effective communication abilities: strength in communicating complex concepts in an understandable form Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Matlab, C, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders Ability to travel as requested for business needed.
