The Opportunity

DaVita seeks an experienced and highly motivated Social Media Content Strategist Manager to be the driving force behind our social media presence. This isn't just about posting; it's about leading our content storytelling and strategy, translating complex healthcare information into compelling, audience-specific narratives. You'll own the full social media lifecycle, from strategic planning to execution, overseeing both organic and paid initiatives.

A key part of this role is leading and mentoring a junior social media teammate, fostering their growth and ensuring seamless content delivery across all platforms with the ability to appeal to multiple audiences from patients and caregivers to physicians, healthcare policymakers and others.

If you have a proven track record in driving significant engagement and brand awareness across diverse audiences, with a deep understanding of social media trends and compliance, we want you on our team.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Vision & Execution:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with DaVita's brand voice, marketing objectives, and business goals across multiple audiences (patients, physicians, payors, policymakers).
    • Conduct thorough audits and competitive analyses to identify growth opportunities within the kidney care space, staying ahead of industry trends, algorithm updates, and compliance considerations.
    • Identify and leverage social media trends, viral content opportunities, and new channels to maximize engagement and reach.
  • Content Storytelling & Translation:
    • Develop compelling and cohesive storytelling moments across key content pillars to influence perception through narrative shaping.
    • Lead the creation and curation of high-quality, engaging social media content (text, images, videos) by expertly translating long-form healthcare editorial content into concise, compelling social-ready formats tailored for specific audiences that is effective for both organic and paid opportunities.
    • Ensure brand consistency and strict adherence to healthcare regulations across all social media platforms.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content marketing, design, video production, corporate communications) to ensure seamless content integration and a unified brand message.
    • High involvement in weekly editorial committee meetings to stay updated on relevant communication initiatives, content sourcing opportunities, and to provide updates on social media efforts to wider team.
    • Develop and manage a robust content calendar, scheduling and posting across all platforms based on best practices and performance analytics.
    • Leverage emerging technologies such as AI tools to augment and enhance content creation development and ideation.
  • Team Leadership & Community Management:
    • Manage and mentor a junior social media direct report(s), providing guidance, fostering their development, and ensuring efficient execution of social media activities.
    • Lead community interactions, responding to questions and comments, and escalating issues as needed, maintaining an approved, compliant response library.
    • Develop and manage a brand ambassador program, engaging key internal and external influencers in the kidney care community.
  • Reporting & Optimization:
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing comprehensive monthly reports on both paid and organic social media efforts.
    • Analyze engagement metrics, audience insights, and campaign performance to continually refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.
    • Utilize social listening tools to track brand mentions, sentiment, and relevant conversations.

What You'll Bring

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in social media management and content strategy, with a track record of successfully growing social media channels for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex healthcare content into engaging social media narratives.
  • Strong experience in managing and mentoring junior social media team members.
  • Deep understanding of social media best practices, algorithms, and emerging trends across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X).
  • Experience with social media management and listening tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Talkwalker).
  • Experience working with design teams to articulate social media creative needs and the ability to create graphics on-demand outside of the design team as needed in self-service platforms such as Canva or similar.
  • Proficiency with regularly incorporating AI into workflows to enhance productivity and quality output advantages.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and oversee projects from inception to completion.
  • Healthcare experience preferred; strong understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).
