Zayo is seeking Corporate Counsel - Litigation & Employment to support the Head of Litigation and other members of the corporate legal team by working on a variety of legal matters including employment law and litigation matters. We are seeking an exceptionally strong litigation and employment attorney who is ready for accelerated learning and career growth.

*We're open to this position working in a hybrid capacity out of our downtown Denver, CO corporate headquarters (1401 Wynkoop).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in pre-litigation and litigation efforts including evidence gathering, analysis, legal research, discovery, pleading review, deposition prep, and management of select outside legal matters.

  • Review and draft employment-related contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

  • Provide advice and handle complex employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour disputes.

  • Lead investigations into workplace complaints and provide guidance on appropriate resolutions.

  • Manage subpoena responses and other third-party requests for information.

  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes and collaborate with business teams to incorporate changes based on emerging risks and best practices.

  • Provide contract interpretation and guidance to internal stakeholders.

  • Participate in other strategic initiatives and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Law (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Member of at least one state bar association and in good standing.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant legal experience.

  • Experience in handling litigation and investigations.

  • Ability to communicate with other personnel and external parties on complicated topics through strong, organized writing and verbal skills.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including management of projects and workload and setting goals and priorities.

  • Must be a team player able to work cooperatively with others both internal and external to the company to find practical and creative solutions to problems.

  • Computer and software systems experience.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Prior experience successfully operating in a fluid, fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
