QuarterLine, a Planned Systems International (PSI) Company, is currently seeking multiple Medical Technologists to join our team providing meaningful and critical care for our country's veterans at the Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System in Montgomery, AL.     Shift Information:
    • Working hours: Mon-Fri, 8hr shift, 0800-1630.


Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of automated and non-automated laboratory procedures in the areas of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology according to established protocols.
  • Determine the suitability of specimens for analysis. Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure that the physiologic state of the properties is maintained.
  • Prepare reagents and primary reference materials as necessary. Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain instruments. Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks. Identify the cause of common problems and make simple repairs.
  • Recognize and react to indicators of malfunction. Locate and implement corrections. Obtain analytical data, convert to a prescribed unit of reporting, as necessary, and correlate data to verify results.
  • Conduct quality control procedures on equipment, reagents and products and maintain proper records for quality control and quality assurance reports.


Minimum Requirements

  • Board certified by ASCP or AMT or an equivalent MT, MLS or CLS certification.
  • 1 year of relevant professional experience.
  • Degree in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory or related science.


Desired Qualifications

  • Prior VA experience welcomed.
  • Experience working in hospital or high-volume environments.
  • Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.


Physical Demands

  • Subject to a background/security investigation
  • Willingness to comply with VA vaccination requirements.
