POSITION SUMMARY: The Ohio State University Bleeding amp; Clotting Disorders Center Data Analyst will be responsible for providing database maintenance and analysis for the Hemophilia Treatment Center and working with ATHN to improve care and support vital research by having standardized data in a secure environment. The Data Analyst shall review and enter statistics from the Centers clinical team members on a regular basis, including entering patient data, inclusive of all diagnoses, seen by the Centers medical staff into ATHN Clinical Manager database. Reporting data for HRSA and CDC grants is also a key component of this position. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree and three years of electronic medical records and database experience or high school diploma/equivalent and five years of experience in the aforementioned areas. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY: Develop and maintain clinical database, collect data from multiple sources including electronic medical records, clinical and research staff. Knowledge of electronic medical records systems, particularly Epic/IHIS. Must be able to work efficiently and effectively with customized databases and technology. Must be able to work simultaneously with multiple Electronic Medical Record systems. Read, interpret, and apply regulations, policies and procedures. Attention to detail and the ability to deal with complex projects using critical thinking and appropriate decision making. Maintain awareness of details of clinical data to identify missing or inaccurate data; and track for inconsistencies for Clinical Research Team to review and report accordingly. Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA requirements. Ability to respectfully work and communicate within a diverse community. Work and communicate effectively from multiple locations as needed. Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.) and comfort with spreadsheets. Actively participate in ongoing training and education as directed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with electronic medical records software, Epic/IHIS preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare environment. Previous experience working with data involving electronic medical records, document management system, and/or clinical research databases. Experience working and communicating with a comprehensive, integrated care team. Significant creativity in problem solving.
