Job Summary

The PMO Learning & Development Program Manager (PgM) is a trusted consultant that provides program or portfolio management across multiple initiatives that enable the development and enhancement of CDW's Project Management (PM) community. The PgM provides strategic, consultative guidance and manages complex programs, including oversight of Project Managers assigned to workstreams. The PgM owns all aspects of program delivery, from initiation to closure, with a focus on learning and development outcomes. This role is integrally involved with business stakeholders across CDW's U.S., Canadian, and Indian teams, and may partner with PMO leadership to align efforts with strategic priorities. Programs are typically of significant complexity and support a mix of mainstream, legacy, and emerging methodologies and tools. The PgM leads cross functional teams, to ensure a consistent and cohesive enablement experience for PMs.. The PgM works well within ambiguous circumstances - bringing process and order, transforming uncertainty into actionable plans and deliverables. In this role, the PgM also leads the design and execution of scalable learning strategies that grow certification rates, accelerate time to proficiency, and strengthen the global PM community. The successful PgM balances scope, risks, dependencies, across multiple initiatives to deliver on defined business outcomes. Success is measured not just by program execution, but by the PgM's ability to grow confidence, capability, and contribution across CDW's internal PM organization.

What you will do:

Program Ownership & Strategy

  • Manage cross-functional initiatives to support the development and growth of CDW's global Project Management (PM) community. Ensure accurate tracking of program timelines and scope, and report progress and milestones to stakeholders. Validates initial program scope and estimates, making recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders to maintain alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintains continuous alignment of program scope with CDW's broader PMO strategy and learning goals. Make data-informed recommendations to modify programs and enhance their impact on capability, confidence, and organizational outcomes.
  • Identifies risks and cross-functional dependencies that impact enablement programs and learning solutions.
  • Proactively monitors engagement across teams, and adjusts as needed to meet program goals.
  • Establishes and owns program communication plans that synthesize updates across multiple workstreams, enabling stakeholders at all levels to stay informed and engaged..

Learning & Development Enablement

  • Design, execute, and continuously evolve scalable learning strategies that grow certification rates (e.g., PMP, SAFe), accelerate time to proficiency, and close skill gaps across CDW's PM population.
  • Own the onboarding experience for new PMs, ensuring clarity of role expectations, delivery practices, and cultural integration across regions.
  • Manage the PM learning portal strategy, ensuring resources are easy to find, up-to-date, and aligned with real-time needs.
  • Partner with field leaders and managers to create targeted enablement solutions, development playbooks, and performance support tools.
  • Lead programs and engagement experiences that strengthen the PMO community-such as quarterly forums, recognition initiatives, and peer-led learning.

Leadership

  • Takes accountability for program results and holds contributors accountable for their scope of work. Ensure deliverables meet standards, timelines, and strategic intent.
  • Instills trust and alignment with stakeholders by building strong relationships, adapting to change, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrates ability to diffuse uncomfortable situations with calm, solution oriented thinking.
  • Leads efforts to continuously define, contribute and to improve our overall project management knowledge base across solution areas. Develops standards, best practices and team-wide training initiatives.
  • Provide enablement for team members on PM tools, project management methodologies, and consultative skills that support development of world-class PM talent.

Communication

  • Consolidate and synthesize insights across initiatives, translating detailed data into clear, actionable updates for business and PMO leaders. Has clear and concise communication. Leads and facilitates both live and virtual meetings. Keeps meetings on track, on topic and summarizes, assigns and publishes follow up items in a timely manner.
  • Adapts communication style and medium to the audience needs. Adjusts communications based on complex political landscape.
  • Defines internal strategy and content for formal presentations and coaches project managers as needed and reinforcing the voice of the PMO. Creates talking points and strategic messaging.

Use organizational savvy, strategic thinking, and influence to establish credibility and advance PMO learning priorities.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or education related field or equivalent experience and 9 years of professional experience in Program Management, or learning & development, and organization effectiveness OR
  • 13 years experience delivering Programs or leading programs or initiatives focused on talent development, enablement, or strategic change across a large-scale organization
  • Participate productively in virtual teams in order to improve Project Management processes.
  • Strategic thinker and leader with a demonstrated ability to take accountability for programs and their results, and lead teams to meet program success factors.
  • Experience developing and executing strategies that scale across geographies, functions, and stakeholder groups, with measurable business impact.
  • Working knowledge of one or more formal project management methodologies, proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project/Office.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, including experience facilitating learning events and high-visibility meetings.
  • Applies discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information.
  • Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
  • Organize cross functional plans and strategies into understandable concepts with ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize.
  • PgMP, PMP and/or relevant Certifications familiarity with project management or consulting certifications and standards (e.g., PMP, SAFe, PMI-ACP),
  • Comfortable working in global, virtual teams and navigating cultural nuances to build inclusive, engaging communities.
  • Previous experience navigating a matrix organization

Pay range: $ 100,000 - $ 179,000, depending on experience and skill set
Annual bonus target of 15% subject to terms and conditions of plan
