Job Title: Information Security Intern Department: Information Security Location: Plymouth, MA, with Hybrid options applicable Duration: Summer 2025 Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) Rockland Trust is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented College-Level Information Security Intern to join our Information Security team for the Summer of 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in information security within the financial sector. The intern will work on projects directly related to data loss prevention, the emerging field of AI in security, and essential record retention practices. This role is ideal for students looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting and develop a strong foundation in information security. Key Responsibilities: The Information Security Intern will contribute to various projects, including but not limited to:
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Reporting: Assist in the development, automation, and refinement of DLP reports, analyzing data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement in data protection strategies.
- AI Reporting & Analysis: Support the team in exploring and reporting on the security implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives, including developing reporting metrics for AI-related risks.
- Record Retention Analysis: Participate in the analysis of data retention policies and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. This may involve reviewing existing policies, identifying data categories, and assisting with data mapping efforts.
- Security Metrics & Dashboard Development: Contribute to the creation and enhancement of security metrics and dashboards to provide clear, actionable insights into the bank's security posture.
- Policy & Procedure Documentation: Assist in reviewing and updating information security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Research & Threat Intelligence: Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, specifically as they relate to data loss and AI security.
- Associated Tasks: Provide support on other information security initiatives as needed, gaining exposure to various facets of the Bank's information security programs.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong academic record.
- Basic understanding of information security principles, concepts, and best practices.
- Emerging analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
