POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Human Resources is seeking a Human Resources Compliance Associate (Human Resources Assistant - Intermediate Support) to join the HR Shared Services Compliance team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations related to human resources auditing and records management. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct recurring audits to enhance compliance and monitor employment related requirements.
  • Review and analyze data to develop or refine audit processes and procedure documentation.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across the University to develop and implement audits.
  • Process and review background checks including standards, motor vehicle records, and clearance packages.
  • Respond to customer inquiries directed to the Compliance team with professionalism and timeliness.
  • Scan and index HR documents into an electronic filing system.
  • Assist with various ongoing human resources-related projects.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written, demonstrate professionalism, accuracy and attention to detail, and be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.A high level of organization and problem-solving ability is essential, along with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. The successful candidate must exercise a high degree of sensitivity when handling confidential information. Proficiency in Office 365 Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) is preferred along with the ability to learn and utilize new technologies efficiently. Knowledge and understanding of human resources and payroll policies, Workday, and HR case management ticket system is preferred.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
