Job Overview

The primary function of the Medical Plant Supervisor is to oversee and direct medical plant operations in compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations to provide quality medical gas products to our customers. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday and is based in Dunn, NC. The Medical Plant Supervisor will report to the Gas Plant Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the activities of medical plant operators.
  • Maintain all medical paperwork as per FDA requirements.
  • Run daily branch automated orders as per our established schedule.
  • Ensure that production goals are met and coordinate distribution activities to achieve 100% order fulfillment.
  • Ensure that all Advanced Cylinder Management (ACM) and scanning activities are performed correctly.
  • Provide medical gas training for new and existing employees as required by FDA and Arc3 policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensure that medical gas plant operators adhere to company safety policies.
  • Communicate with branch personnel as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between CERES team and Arc3 Gases.
  • Communicate cylinder needs in a timely manner.
  • Strive to fill all empty cylinders, as fill-to-order systems are not supported.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control, as directed.
  • Prepare for and participate in the annual FDA/NC Department of Agriculture audits.
  • Attend and/or conduct training as required.
  • Generally, support fellow members of the gas plant team and perform other related duties as required.
  • Uphold a professional image in both appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate's degree in science or technical field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of operations experience in a manufacturing or gas plant environment required.
  • 1-2 years supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA compliance and experience with Quality Assurance or Quality Control procedures preferred.
  • Proficiency with automated order systems, scanning technologies, and inventory software required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and training skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation required.
Working Conditions
  • Work performed in a regulated medical gas plant environment with exposure to pressurized cylinders, hazardous materials, industrial equipment, and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Must handle heavy gas cylinders and hazardous materials regularly.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
  • Requires continuous gripping of cylinder handles and caps, and frequent twisting motions.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods-up to eight hours per shift.
  • Frequent bending at the waist and knees; use of feet to help maneuver cylinders into interlocking positions.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina are needed for repetitive tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Visual acuity required to inspect equipment and complete documentation accurately.
