TheCourt Security Officeris responsible for maintaining the security of courtrooms and courthouses, ensuring the safety of staff and court users. The officer supports the orderly operation of court proceedings and assists judicial officers by maintaining a safe, peaceful, and efficient courtroom environment. Work is performed under the supervision of management. Theideal candidatedemonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to courthouse safety. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, and experience in security, law enforcement, or de-escalation is preferred. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Montpelier, Vermont. Starting salary is $19.87 per hour.The Court Security Offer is a Judicial Branch position equivalent to pay grade 17.The State of Vermont's total compensation package features an outstanding set of employee benefits that are worth about 30% of your total compensation. Minimum Requirements
High School Graduation or GED and 2 years in a responsible position Summary of Duties
Scheduled hours of work generally conform to public court hours, but assignments may extend beyond those hours. Occasional travel to other courts within the State of Vermont may be required. Travel will be reimbursed according to State policies. This position will be eligible for longevity increases in accordance with the State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases as enacted by the Vermont State Legislature.
