UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of
Albuquerque, NM.


University of New Mexico-Gallup
Branch, Applied Technologies & Allied Health Sciences Division,
anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or develop lower
division courses (100 level)
in the Fall 2025, Spring2026, and Summer 2026 semesters in the following
anticipated potential disciplines:

  • AUTT 111 Automotive Testing & Diagnostics
  • AUTT 115 Brake Systems
  • AUTT 130 Electrical System Repair
  • AUTT 157 Steering & Suspension
  • AUTT 167 Emission Control Service
  • AUTT 170 Heating and Air Conditioning
  • AUTT 203 Automotive Engine Overhaul
  • AUTT 123 Automatic Transmission Overhaul
  • AUTT 230 Electrical Systems Overhaul
  • AUTT 295 Practicum in Automotive Technology

UNM Gallup is a two-year branch
campus of the University of New Mexico located approximately 130 miles west
of Albuquerque. The University of New Mexico established branch
colleges to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing
post-secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branch
colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multicultural
backgrounds of their respective communities by offering community education
programs, career and technical education including certificate and associate
degree programs, and transfer programs that prepare students for upper
division entry into colleges and universities.

The Applied Technologies & Allied Health Sciences Division at UNM Gallup
Branch is seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach
lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM
Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are
teaching including but not limited to meeting face-to-face with the class during
assigned times that may include evenings or weekends, content delivery,
assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and
assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student
enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by
graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each
semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates
who are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.

Wages
Adjunct Faculty are currently
compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads.
Salary range: $1,135.26 per credit hour.

Qualifications

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or
    ability to become ASE-certified in topic-specific area related to course(s)
    taught (i.e, A series, C1, E Series, F1, G1, L1, L3, T Series, X1)
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
