Duties and Responsibilities

  1. 1. Administrative

  • Serve on committees directly related to OB/GYN to include Department Education Committee, Graduate Medical Education, and QA Committee

  • Serve on committees not directly related to OB/GYN

  • Assist Program Director in administering the residency program to include curriculum development, resident rotation structuring, statistics collection, residency and instructional manual updating and resident recruitment.

  • Assume an administrative role as the Hospital FPMRS practice expands to include other FPMRS specialist.

    2. Direct Patient Care (Private Patients)

    • Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs; coordinates medical care rendered at Practice Sites and maintain effective liaison with physicians referring patients to physicians engaged by or employed by Employer

    • Maintain a FPMRS private practice within the OB/GYN academic group ultimately to occupy a maximum of five half-days per week and seeing a reasonable number of patients/session.

    • All services rendered through the OB/GYN academic group will be deemed services rendered to the Hospital under this Agreement and shall be covered by all the terms of this Agreement (e.g., professional liability coverage).

    • Physician shall be scheduled and available at the office and Hospital for patient care services for a minimum of 36 hours per week and 4 hours of admin time for a total of 40 hours each week.

    • Deliver professional medical services in Physician's Specialty in a quality and cost-effective manner to patients at the Practice Sites as directed by and exclusively on behalf of Employer pursuant to a schedule that reasonably meets patient needs and may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights and holidays, scheduled in accordance with Employer's policies and procedures and with definitive office hours and schedules being subject to final approval and periodic review by Employer;

    1. Supervised Patient Care (Staff/Clinic Patients)

    • Supervision of residents in the FPMRS and gynecology clinics.

    • Supervision of residents providing care to FPMRS inpatients

    • Supervision of residents providing consultation services regarding urogynecology care

    1. Teaching

    • Active participation in educational curriculum by either attendance or presentation to include at least Grand Rounds, Morning Report, Journal Review, Textbook Exams, Morbidity/Mortality Conference.

    • Giving invited lectures outside of the department of OB/GYN when asked to do so including nursing staff.

    • Holding weekly one-hour teaching sessions for any medical students on the service at the time.

    • Being on OHEP Mock Oral Board Examiner when invited.

    1. Financial

    • Proper documentation of all potential revenue producing hospital/office patient encounters and prompt transfer of such documentation to the academic group billing.

    Research

    • Active involvement at all times in at least one publishable research project with or without resident involvement.

    • General Responsibilities as Member of Hospital Staff

    • Compliance with all Hospital-wide departmental rules/bylaws as provided in writing or otherwise duly communicated to Physician.

    • Achievement at specialty board certification

    1. Physician agrees to support the needs of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology relating to staffing the clinic in the absence of other faculty required in Section 2 above.

Unless waived in writing by Employer, Physician must (I) have general certification (or recertification) or subspecialty certification (or recertification) as approved by a Recognized Board (as defined by Employer Policy) in Physician's primary specialty or subspecialty as of the execution this Agreement; or (II) be eligible for such board certification as of the execution this Agreement. If Physician does not have such board certification as of the execution of this Agreement, Physician must obtain such board certification within five (5) years from the date Physician is eligible to sit for board certification or within (5) years of the execution of this Agreement, whichever is earlier.
